چکیده

Simulation has offered a practical means to train and rehearse clinical skills for many years. Simulated environments, patients, and related technologies have been used to develop, validate, and maintain a wide range of clinical skills across numerous clinical specialties. In the past 30 years, the field has truly thrived, as evidenced in rapidly evolving simulation technologies; the ever-increasing volume and quality of simulation-based scientific studies; the institution of numerous peer-reviewed outlets for the dissemination of these studies; the number of learned societies dedicated to promoting simulation and their expansive memberships; and the widespread development and availability of clinical educational resources, curricula, and policies centered on application of simulation. Such simulation-based training applications and interventions within the health professions has been termed an “ethical imperative” [1], whereby demonstrating proficiency on simulation-based tasks and procedures before performing them in a clinical environment on patients seems to be a trend gaining significant momentum [2–4]. Clinical simulation science is thus past its early developmental stages. Evidence reviews and syntheses are taking stock of where the field is, and where it should be heading. From this perspective of a self-reflective science, the paper by Cheng et al. [5] on the extension of existing guidelines to encompass the reporting of simulation research is as valuable as it is timely. Cheng et al. applied an elaborate consensus-building methodology using panels of international experts in the field. In successive

Evaluation of Karun River Water Quality Scenarios Using Simulation Model Results

Karun River is the largest and most watery river in Iran. This river is the longest river which located just inside Iran and Ahvaz Metropolis drinking water supplied from Karun River as well (fa.alalam.ir). Karun River as the main source of water treatment plants in Ahvaz, like most surface waters affected by various contaminants which caused changes in water quality of the river (www.aww.co.ir...

Water quality management of heavily contaminated urban rivers using water quality analysis simulation program

Precisely management of water quality in urban rivers is of significant and water environmental capacity provide a useful tool. This study presented a water quality analysis simulation program model-based approach for dynamical load reduction in Ashi River, highly contaminated tributaries of Songhua River, China. The actual and surplus dynamic environmental capacity of CODCr and NH<s...

Assessment of uncertainty for coal quality-tonnage curves through minimum spatial cross-correlation simulation

Coal quality-tonnage curves are helpful tools in optimum mine planning and can be estimated using geostatistical simulation methods. In the presence of spatially cross-correlated variables, traditional co-simulation methods are impractical and time consuming. This paper investigates a factor simulation approach based on minimization of spatial cross-correlations with the objective of modeling s...

Simulation- Based Education

Background: Quality improvement in higher education is one of the approaches which is taken into consideration in many higher education systems in recent decades. On the other hand, to respond to the rapid changes in the medical field, medical education should be changed and new training methods should be used. One of these methods is simulation-based training. Methods: This is a review a...
